FAQs
What can I expect in an individual therapy session?
In an individual therapy session, you can anticipate a confidential and non-judgmental environment to express your thoughts and emotions. Each session begins with a short check-in. Goals for therapy, particularly those concerning specific issues, will be discussed. You'll be prompted to delve into your emotions, thoughts, and past experiences, which aids in developing a deeper understanding of your circumstances. Feedback or reflections on your shared thoughts will be provided to identify behavioral patterns and foster comprehension. If advantageous, homework may be assigned to reinforce learning between sessions. The session concludes with a summary of the discussion and an outline for the subsequent meeting.
How long are therapy sessions?
Individual therapy sessions are 53 minutes.
What insurances do you accept?
The Vessel Therapy does not accept insurance at this time.
How do you bill my insurance?
The Vessel Therapy does not bill your insurance, but the client can request reimbursement from your insurance carrier after paying and obtaining your paid invoice.
How much do I pay for each therapy session?
Your first session costs $175, and each session after that is $150.
How often do we meet, and how long will I have to be in therapy?
We will develop a customizable plan tailored to your needs. While it's uncertain how many sessions will be required to achieve your treatment goals, rest assured that we will collaboratively design a personalized treatment plan that aims to meet your objectives as swiftly as possible, provided you are committed to the process.
What is the Good Faith Estimate?
At The Vessel Therapy, we believe in transparency regarding the costs of therapy. That’s why we provide a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for our services.
A Good Faith Estimate is a document that outlines the estimated costs for your therapy sessions before you begin. This helps you understand what to expect financially and allows you to plan accordingly.
Your GFE will detail:
The cost of individual therapy sessions
Any additional fees for materials or assessments
Information about insurance coverage, if applicable
The GFE promotes transparency, informing you about potential expenses and helping you avoid unexpected costs.
What is the difference between individual therapy sessions and support groups?
The primary distinction between individual therapy and a support group lies in the setting: individual therapy involves only the client and the therapist, while a support group consists of multiple participants sharing the space.
What is the difference between a psychoeducation group and a support group?
Psychoeducational groups and support groups have distinct objectives. Psychoeducational groups are designed to educate participants on particular aspects of mental health, coping mechanisms, or life skills. In contrast, support groups concentrate on offering emotional support and a platform for members to share their experiences. They provide a communal space for individuals to bond over common struggles without an explicit educational component.
What are support groups?
Support groups offer a welcoming environment for individuals with shared experiences, challenges, or objectives to connect without fear of judgment. These groups create a secure and considerate setting for reciprocal support and comprehension. Members exchange stories and gain encouragement and affirmation from peers who empathize, all while accessing resources for their path. Becoming part of a support group can cultivate a sense of belonging, alleviate loneliness, and promote individual development and recovery.
How long is each session?
Each session will last between 75-90 minutes.
What is the format of the support group?
Upon entering, there will be light refreshments. The support group will start with an icebreaker, and then we will go straight into the day’s topic, which will lead our support group. The group is informal, which allows group members to share freely.
What is the location of the support group?
The support group is in-person and is located in Homewood, Illinois. After you register, you will receive the exact address by email.
Is there a curriculum?
While most support groups operate without a set curriculum, our support group will have a structured agenda that we will strive to adhere to the group's needs.
Do I need to purchase a book or a journal? Will these items be provided for me?
All required items for the group will be supplied at the beginning. If additional items are needed, you will be notified during group registration.
How many sessions are there in the support group?
The support groups hold nine sessions that convene weekly in the evenings.
How much does it cost?
The total cost of the support group is $750, which is required at registration. Payments are available.
How many people will be in the support group?
A minimum of seven mothers and a maximum of ten is required. This range promotes both closeness and variety, fostering connections, guaranteeing personal attention, offering diverse viewpoints, and enabling the formation of a supportive network.
