Faith Over Fear — How June Shifted Everything

As June comes to a close, I’m pausing to reflect on just how faithful God has been. This month, I truly practiced faith over fear—and the blessings that followed have been both humbling and overwhelming. But can I be real for a second?

Sometimes it’s hard to share your blessings when it feels like others may mistake your testimony for bragging. But let me tell you something—my blessings are personal. My journey has been personal. My healing has been personal. And the way God is showing up for me? Very personal.

In the span of one week, I signed two new contracts and accepted an adjunct professor position. That’s not luck. That’s God—showing me that obedience, surrender, and trust will always outshine fear.

But I didn’t walk through June without challenges. In fact, this month reminded me that adversity doesn’t go away just because you’re doing the right thing. But God still covers you in the storm.

A Divine Conversation Before the Breakthrough

I remember the exact morning I got the adjunct offer. I was in a quiet moment with God, expressing my worries. I hadn’t heard back from the job, even though the interview went really well. I started telling God everything on my heart—how much the position meant to me, how aligned it felt, but also how it conflicted with my daughter’s dance class. I told Him I’d need help getting her home or to someone’s house, and what if she had homework? I laid it all at His feet and said, “Lord, I trust You. I’m going to send the follow-up email and surrender the outcome.”

That email went out at 6:19 AM.

At 1:54 PM, I received the job offer—with a surprise: they changed the day and time of the class. It no longer interfered with my daughter’s schedule. I cried. I praised. I thanked God for being a detail-keeper.

Preparing for July: A New Kind of Fast

If you’ve been following me, you know I begin each month with a fast. July will be no different, but this time I’m doing two fasts:

A detox fast to take my focus off food and back on God

A soul fast to cleanse the inner noise

What’s a soul fast? It’s a spiritual detox. It’s when you step away from anything that might confuse, distract, or pull you from God. That means:

No TV shows that don’t align

Only listening to uplifting, spirit-centered music (unless I’m working out)

Journaling every piece of negative self-talk and releasing it to God

Removing content that shifts my thoughts away from my purpose

I’m choosing to silence every lie, every distraction, every piece of programming that doesn’t reflect who He says I am.

Because the enemy doesn’t always show up in red with horns. Sometimes, the enemy shows up in what you’re scrolling through. What you’re watching. What you’re listening to. I want July to be filled with clarity, discernment, and divine downloads.
