When I first resigned, I worried people would see it as failure. Walking away from a job after years of service can look like giving up. But now I see the truth — leaving wasn’t a demotion. It was my promotion.

God promoted me into freedom. He promoted me into alignment. He promoted me into purpose. What looked like loss to the world was actually gain in the spirit.

The Housing Authority couldn’t honor me. It couldn’t value me. It couldn’t hold the fullness of who I was becoming. So God closed the chapter. Even when they withheld my final paycheck, I knew He was positioning me for more.

Through fasting, prayer, and preparing for baptism, I’ve realized that real promotion doesn’t come with a title or a salary. It comes with peace. It comes with clarity. It comes with alignment.

Leaving wasn’t easy. It cost me comfort, familiarity, and even income. But it gave me freedom, rest, and a chance to build the life God has been calling me toward.

This was never about climbing a ladder. It was about stepping into purpose. And that step was the greatest promotion of all.

Now, I see leaving not as the end — but as the doorway into everything God has promised.
