Day by Day, Grace Over Grind

I used to think fasting was all about food.

This time, I realized—it’s more about faith.

This soul fast has been different. It’s required me to shift the way I show up in every space—from what I eat to what I listen to, how I spend my time, and even the conversations I entertain. And while I expected to feel lighter physically, I wasn’t prepared for how heavy the silence would be.

The part that surprised me most?

Being misunderstood.

When you’re fasting—soul, body, spirit—you start noticing everything. Energy shifts. People’s reactions. Your own resistance. And not everyone will get it. Some might say you’re “acting funny.” Some might take your boundaries personal. Some might even question your intentions.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

This is sacred work.

And sacred work doesn’t require outside validation.

I had moments when the food wasn’t perfect. When the music in the background wasn’t fully aligned. When I said I’d rest but found myself scrolling instead. But I didn’t quit. I noticed. I returned. I realigned.

That’s what grace over grind looks like.

It’s not about performing healing perfectly—it’s about being present enough to catch yourself, love yourself, and keep going.

I’ve felt the weight of trying to explain this season to people who aren’t in it. But now? I just let my actions speak. My peace speaks. My glow speaks. And when I feel misunderstood, I remind myself:

“I’m not breaking down—I’m breaking through.”

Every single day, I recommit. To myself. To God. To the version of me that’s waiting on the other side of this fast.

So if you’re in a season where the progress feels quiet and the growth feels lonely, know this:

You are not alone.

You are not behind.

And you are not crazy for choosing peace over pleasing.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Your journey doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
