Faith Over Fear: The Wake-Up Call I Didn’t Know I Needed

God allowed my hair to fall out—because sometimes we think we have endless time to act.

I’ve had health issues since I was 28. Burning skin when I sweat, inconsistent test results, doctors throwing out possibilities like PCOS, early menopause, endometriosis—nothing ever stuck. No one could give me a clear answer.

Then a specialist uploaded the wrong test results into my chart. We made an entire game plan based on it—only to find out later I didn’t have that condition. Just some elevated levels… nothing high enough for anyone to truly care.

But my hair falling out? That was the wake-up call. And the way it all unfolded? Divine.

In that moment, I had to make decisions no mother wants to make—What would happen to my kids if something happened to me? My son needs his father’s structure. My daughter? She needs sensitivity and spiritual maturity to become the woman I envision her to be. The thought of splitting them up shattered me. But it also snapped me into obedience.

STOP.

Set your children up so they’ll be good—no matter what.

Because God has been showing you what your body can and cannot tolerate.

And you haven’t been listening.

Now your body is responding—and your hair is falling out.

The hardest part?

Doctors saying my braids were to blame—until those labs came back.

My levels were low. I wasn’t crazy. I wasn’t exaggerating.

I was being warned.

And now I hear Him loud and clear.

I’m not splitting my kids up.

I’m not ignoring His voice anymore.

I’m done with fear.

This is faith with works.

The time is now.

With grace and truth,

Rissa
