I’m Taking it Personal

I hate when people say, “Don’t take it personal.”

But the truth is—some things are meant to be personal.

This fast was personal.

My relationship with God is personal.

Healing from childhood sexual abuse—deeply personal.

Learning to feel seen without chasing validation has been personal.

Releasing the ache of growing up without a positive male role model? Personal.

Learning to love myself and trust my own heart is personal.

Healing from anger is personal.

The need to not snap on everyone I perceive looked at me wrong, deserved it, or anything in between—that’s personal.

Standing firm in my “no,” setting boundaries, and following God—so personal.

Choosing myself over what’s familiar but harmful is personal.

Refusing to abandon the little girl inside me ever again is personal.

Walking away at the first red flag instead of hoping for change—personal.

Letting go of trauma bonds and refusing love with conditions is personal.

Making space for peace instead of chaos and unavailable people is personal.

Speaking up when I’m being manipulated or gaslighted, no longer shrinking for approval—personal.

Honoring my heart over temporary physical comfort—personal.

I’m not apologizing for it.

I am taking it all personal. Because this is my healing, my story, and my becoming.

🕊️ If you’re in a season of reclaiming yourself, I see you. Keep going. It’s okay to take it personal. You’re worth it.
