For a long time, I wondered if I was the problem.
If I was too sensitive.
Too guarded.
Too much.
But sometimes, the turmoil you feel isn’t because you’re broken.
It’s because your spirit is picking up on chaos that was never yours to hold.
When he left, the noise inside me quieted.
The constant overthinking.
The self-doubt.
The ache that I kept mistaking for love.
I finally had room to breathe.
To hear God again.
To come back home to myself.
That’s when it became clear:
The right connection feels safe, not chaotic.
It brings clarity, not confusion.
It nurtures, it doesn’t deplete.
This is the lesson I’m carrying forward:
Peace is evidence.
Safety is evidence.
You don’t have to settle for anything that feels like war in your nervous system.
If you’re in a season where you’re questioning whether it’s you or them—pause long enough to notice how your body responds in their absence. Sometimes, your healing begins the moment you let go.
If you’re ready to explore this kind of healing in community, The Mommy Movement is here. We’re a space for mothers who are unlearning self-abandonment, reclaiming their worth, and building lives that feel safe from the inside out.
💛 Healing is sacred when it’s shared.
