I used to think holding on made me strong. That if I could just love harder, tolerate more, or stay a little longer, eventually the love I gave would be returned the way I needed.
But here’s the truth:
Anything that requires you to shrink to keep it isn’t from God.
God will never send you relationships that demand you silence your voice, abandon your values, or betray the little girl inside you just to feel chosen.
Sometimes the most courageous thing you can do is release what isn’t aligned, even if it breaks your heart.
It took me years to understand that I don’t have to twist myself into smaller versions to be worthy of love, friendship, or belonging. The right people, the right spaces, the right purpose—none of it will ever force me to become less of myself to stay.
Letting go isn’t failure. It’s faith.
It’s telling God: I trust you more than I trust my fear.
It’s believing that what He has for me will feel safe, expansive, and aligned.
So if you’re standing in that hard place right now—palms open, heart aching—I want you to hear this:
You are not too much.
You are not unlovable.
You are not hard to keep.
You’re just learning to no longer settle.
Love aligned with God never demands self-abandonment.
If you’re ready to break generational patterns and surround yourself with women who are healing the same wounds, you’re invited to The Mommy Movement. Inside, we do the brave work together—one layer at a time.
